IWFF Opening

The 33. International Women's Film Festival started on april, the 19th 2016. Several prominent guests joined the opening in the Odeon cinema such as Cologne's lady mayor Henriette Reker, Petra Müller (Head of Film und Medien Stiftung NRW), Bernd Neuendorf (state secretary Ministry for Family Affairs, Youth, Culture and Sport NRW), Dr. Ralf Kleindiek (state secretary Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth), Ulle Schauws (MdB), the directors Angelina Maccarone, Claudia Richarz, Erica von Moeller and the producers Torsten Reglin and Raimond Goebel.

The festival started it's programme with the Israeli feature film SUFAT CHOL (SAND STORM) by Elite Zexer, which also compete in the Debut Feature Film Competition. In six days the festival will show 96 films from 30 countries and will welcome more than 60 international guests.
