Under the banner of NO FUTURE WITHOUT A PAST - Save your place in film history! experts from various countries will be discussing examples of best-practice from the archives and highlighting some recent initiatives. For example, Kajsa Hedström, Project Manager of the Archival Film Collections at the Swedish Film Institute, will be introducing the Nordic Women in Film project that deals with the role of creative women in Swedish film. It sets out to recontextualise the conditions that film-making women worked under and assess their historical significance. Beryl Richards, Chair of UK Directors will be summarising the findings of a recent British study in the whole field of safeguarding women's film legacy. Together, then, we will be looking for ways and means to secure the place of women film-makers in the history of film.
