The Role I Was Born to Play

Canada 2007, Experimental, 9' | Director, Realization Lukas Blakk

Using borrowed clips from three films about gender bending - two comedies and a tragedy - a personal gender landscape is created. The Role I Was Born To Play touches on the assumptions, strategies for survival and the commitment to discussion that alternate gender expressions evoke.

LUKAS BLAKK, born in 1975, is gender queer, a student of software development, filmmaker and videoblogger from Toronto. He works for the Michigan Festival and as a media consultant for artists.
