Get up, Jucy Lordan - Lust for Luck

Germany 2009, 4' | Director, Realization Dagie Brundert

"I was always annoyed by that line in Marianne Faithful's song, ,At the age of thirty-seven she realised she'd never ride through Paris in a sports car with the warm wind in her hair.' Illusions destroyed? A good thing too! Buy your own car and drive yourself! And so I sing: ,At the age of forty-something I realized I can quite well ride through Berlin or Los Angeles in a rental car with the hot desert wind in my hair.''
Dagie Brundert

Brundert works here with double super-8 and with double exposure. A miniature Jucy made out of paper runs and flies through the world, sings the artist in her improved text. The film was initially produced exclusively for the first edition of the London Online and DVD short film magazine So What. The edition was dedicated to the subject of happiness.
