Germany 2009, Documentary, 29' | Director, Screenplay, Sound Tamara Milosevic | DoP Mathias Schöningh | Editor Silke Botsch | Production Funkfilme by order of ZDF/3sat

Meliha is 17 years-old and lives in a Muslim-influenced village close to Srebrenica. Born shortly after the war began, she spent her first three years hidden from her enemies in a hole in the ground. After the war her family lived in various countries but were not granted asylum.
Meliha's red mobile phone is her most precious possession. She loves red nail varnish, belly tops and enjoys being the centre of attention. Despite two brief failed marriages, she is growing up into a proud young woman. Now Meliha wants to marry again and hopes that she has found the right man in Senid.

Melihas dritte Hochzeit was created in the framework of the 3sat series Girls Stories, awarded the 2009 Adolf-Grimme Prize.
