Norma McMurdo looks back on her work at a sanatorium for mentally ill patients. From 1949 to 1951, she was a nurse at the Riverview Mental Hospital in Canada. She also talks about lesbian women, both those who were classified as mentally ill due to their sexual orientation and held against their will, and those women who sought voluntary asylum in the institution.

The decision to use the Super 8 format gives the images an authentic feel. Lisa G is working on a sequel with Heidi Currie, who conducted the interviews in Asylum.
