Du soleil en hiver

Winter on a farm somewhere in East France: the cows don't want to go out into the cold, wells freeze over and the roads are too icy to drive to the nearest town for a bit of relaxation. Yet Francis the apprentice is not bored. His boss Michel, a dairy farmer, spends a lot of time with him. Two very different personalities but – despite the fact that the one is the employer and the other the employee – they get on very well. A story told in wonderful pictures about an unusual friendship and about one of the rarer walks of life.

SAMUEL COLLARDEY was born 1974 in Besançon, France. After leaving school with a bacchalauréat in science and technology, he took a two-year practical course in media at Montbéliard. From 1999 to 2001, he worked for France 3, a regional TV channel, before studying at the French Academy of Film & Sound (Fémis).
