Germany 2009, Documentary, 45' | Director, Screenplay Betty Schiel | DoP Gertrud Schweers | Editor Anika Simon | Sound Günter Friedhoff | Music Angelika Niescier | Production Häuserl-Film

Synopsis
The children in M3, the middle school of the Hansaschule Gelsenkirchen Bulmke-Hüllen, romp wildly through the corridors, play, learn, swear and break things.
In the classroom, playground, swimming baths or on a school outing they play out small and large dramas. Just like in life and in other schools as well. The film shows everyday life in a special school for mentally disabled children. Each child there has their own preferences and abilities that they bring into the community. Together they are a team: Lena, Stella, Ümmü and the others.

Lena, Stella, Ümmü und die Anderen is being screened in the School Film Programme of the Dortmund | Cologne International Women's Film Festival in the documentary film block Being Different in cooperation with doxs! Duisburg.
