Fences

The Netherlands 2009, 6' | Director, Screenplay, Animation José Vonk | Sound Ronald Bosdam | Music Hans Muller | Production H & W Company

Synopsis
Scottish publisher John Murray made the observation in 1821 that the spokes of a wheel when they move around behind a vertical lattice fence appear to be bent. The fence phenomenon is a stroboscope effect, its discovery contributing to the invention of film, which in turn inspired the director to make this film.
Fences is a hand-made, abstract film which, by examining the structures of wheel and fence, generates optical illusions.
