Synopsis
The Cutting Edge is about the taboos involved in showing female body hair, about waxing, caustic creams and about women who always appear to be smooth and hairless – an image that also conjures up powerlessness.
Biography
Scientist, filmmaker and writer KAREN INGHAM was born in England and grew up in the USA, Norway and Germany. She studied Time-Based Arts in Nottingham, and Art, Design and Media at Swansea Metropolitan University, where she also did a PhD. She worked for the Chapter Arts Centre and the BBC and is director of the Centre for Lens-Arts and Science Interaction and the Science, Arts, Technology Network.
